What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for any game menu or interface: button clicks in different materials and moods so each game can find its own feel. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - click-wood: A button click made of a short hollow wooden knock, warm and dry, very short. - click-metal: A button click like pressing a small steel switch, a hard bright tick with a tiny ring, very short. - click-plastic: A button click like a cheap plastic toy button, a light snappy tick, very short. - click-glass: A button click like tapping a glass pane, a delicate clear tink, very short. - click-soft: A very soft muffled button press, like pressing a cushion, gentle and quiet, very short. - click-pop: A cheerful bubbly button pop with a slight upward pitch bend, very short. - click-heavy: A heavy, deep button press like a big arcade or machine button, a solid low thunk, under a quarter second. - click-stone: A button click like a small stone tile pressed into place, a dull gritty tap, very short. - click-paper: A button click like tapping paper or a card, a soft dry flick, very short. - click-retro: A retro chiptune button click, a single short square-wave blip, very short. - click-sci-fi: A futuristic button click: a quick filtered electronic chirp with a faint shimmer, very short. - click-wobble: A playful jelly button press, a quick rubbery wobble of pitch, under a quarter second. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

Claude
I made all 12 clicks as WAV files in sounds/, built by one script, generate_clicks.py. I haven't listened to them: I checked their lengths and volume levels, but not how they actually sound, so give them a listen in your game.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took under 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
