What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a calm city building and management game: clean, satisfying, friendly clicks and construction. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - place-building: A solid soft thump with a short bright chime for placing a building on the map, under half a second. - build-hammer: Three quick light hammer taps on wood for construction in progress, about one second. - build-complete: A cheerful rising three-note bell chime for a building finished, about one second. - demolish: A short crumbling collapse of filtered noise and low thuds for demolishing a building, about one second. - road-place: A soft gravelly brush click for laying a road tile, very short, under a quarter second. - coins-tax: A quick cascade of small bright coin clinks for collecting taxes, about half a second. - population-up: A gentle soft rising two-note pop for the population growing, under half a second. - alert-fire: A short urgent two-tone warning beep repeated twice for a fire breaking out in the city, about one second. - city-hum: A soft city background bed of low traffic rumble and distant hum, seamless loop of six seconds. - traffic-horn: A short soft synthesized car horn honk, two quick tones, friendly not harsh, under half a second. - zone-paint: A smooth soft swish with a faint tone for painting a zone area, about half a second. - milestone: A warm uplifting fanfare of soft brass-like synth tones for reaching a city milestone, about two seconds. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I made all 12 sounds and saved them in sounds/. I couldn't listen to them, so I checked them by measurement only: every file has the right length, nothing clips, and every file starts and ends cleanly with no click. How they actually sound still needs a listen from you.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took under 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
