What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for any game's countdowns, timers, alarms and race starts: clear, punchy and easy to hear. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - race-beep: A short clear mid-pitch beep for each count of a race start countdown, under a quarter second. - race-go: A higher, longer bright beep for go at the end of a race countdown, about half a second. - clock-tick: A crisp dry clock tick, short and clean, for a ticking timer, under a tenth of a second. - clock-tock: A slightly lower dry clock tock to pair with a tick, under a tenth of a second. - hurry-tick: A tense high ticking pulse for the final seconds of a timer, about two seconds. - time-up: A loud buzzer for time running out, flat and clear, about one second. - alarm-bell: An old-style alarm clock bell ringing rapidly, bright and metallic, about two seconds. - alarm-siren: A rising and falling electronic siren for an urgent alarm, about two seconds. - timer-start: A quick upward two-note chime for starting a timer, under half a second. - time-bonus: A bright sparkly rising blip for picking up extra time, under half a second. - bomb-tick: A tense fast electronic beeping that speeds up for a bomb about to go off, about three seconds. - stopwatch-click: A sharp mechanical stopwatch button click, under a tenth of a second. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I've made all 12 sounds as WAV files in sounds/. I checked their lengths and volume levels with code, but I haven't listened to them, so give them a quick listen in your game.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took under 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
