What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a dark dungeon crawler: damp stone halls, mostly loopable background beds, low and moody. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - cave-drips: Slow water drips echoing in a quiet stone cave at uneven intervals, a seamless loop about six seconds long. - dungeon-loop: A low, damp dungeon room tone with a faint rumbling drone and soft air movement, a seamless loop about eight seconds. - torch-crackle: A wall torch burning steadily with soft crackles and small pops, a seamless loop about five seconds long. - distant-chains: Faint metal chains clinking and swaying somewhere far away in a deep echoing hall, a seamless loop about seven seconds. - tunnel-wind: Hollow wind moaning gently through long stone tunnels, slowly rising and falling, a seamless loop about eight seconds. - crypt-hum: A very low, cold underground hum with an occasional faint stone settle, for a sealed crypt, seamless loop about eight seconds. - sewer-flow: A shallow stream of water trickling through a narrow stone sewer channel with soft echo, a seamless loop about six seconds. - torch-light: Lighting a dungeon torch: a quick soft whoosh of flame catching, followed by a short crackle, about one second. - stone-settle: A heavy stone block shifting and grinding slightly somewhere nearby, a short low scrape with dust trickle, about one second. - single-drip: One single water drop falling into a small puddle with a bright plink and a long cave echo. - rat-scurry: Tiny quick claws skittering across stone and fading into the dark, a short dry scratchy patter, under one second. - deeper-level: A short low ominous sting for entering a deeper dungeon floor: a falling dark tone with a hollow echo, about two seconds. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
All 12 WAV files are in sounds/, named as you listed them. I made them entirely from code, with no recorded audio, and **I can't listen to audio**. I checked them by measurement only (seams, levels, frequency content), so they need a listen before you rely on them.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 3 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
