Fantasy RPG sound effects: 10 free sounds from one prompt
Play 10 fantasy RPG sound effects that Claude Code made from one prompt. Copy any sound's prompt, or download the pack as WAV files.

What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a fantasy role-playing game: magical, airy and a bit grand. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - fireball: A roaring fireball cast: a whoosh with crackling fire. - ice-shard: A crisp, glassy ice spell with crystalline tinkles. - lightning: A sharp lightning crack followed by a short rumble. - heal: A soft, shimmering healing spell with rising bell tones. - sword-swing: A fast airy sword swing whoosh. - sword-hit: A metallic sword clash, short and ringing. - potion-drink: A short bubbly glug of drinking a potion. - chest-open: A wooden treasure chest opening, followed by a little magical sparkle. - level-up: A triumphant, rising fanfare-like chime for a character level up, about two seconds. - quest-complete: A warm, short orchestral-sounding flourish for completing a quest. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”
What happened
- Wrote a stereo sound generator where every spell shares one set of tones and one reverb
- Drew the spectrum of every sound and found the fireball and lightning too bright and too long
- Fixed both, and gave the lightning a deeper rumble
The only stereo pack, and the most “produced” one: spells have a shared hall reverb, so the fireball, the ice and the heal sound like they happen in the same room.
The level-up and the quest flourish are three and a half seconds long, long enough to sit under a small on-screen banner.
We gave the prompt to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It took about 3 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.
Every sound is also in the sound effects library, next to the sounds from the other packs. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
