What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a relaxed fishing game: calm water, line tension and a happy catch. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - rod-cast: Casting a fishing rod: a thin airy whip whoosh followed by a fast ticking reel spin, about one second. - lure-plop: A lure landing in calm water: a small soft round plop with a few tiny ripples, under half a second. - reel-in: Reeling in line: a steady quick ratcheting click that loops cleanly, about two seconds. - fish-nibble: A fish nibbling the bait: two tiny soft bobber bloops on the water surface, very short. - fish-bite: A fish taking the bait: a sudden sharp plunk and a quick high tense line twang. - line-tension: A fishing line under strain as a seamless loop: a thin high wavering whine with creaky rod flex, three seconds. - fish-splash: A hooked fish thrashing at the surface: a quick burst of choppy splashes, about one second. - line-snap: A fishing line snapping: a sharp high twang that cuts off, then a slack whip whoosh, under half a second. - fish-catch: Landing a fish: a wet splash out of the water then a cheerful rising three-note chime, about one second. - rare-catch: Catching a rare fish: a bright sparkling arpeggio with a soft bell shimmer on top, about two seconds. - bucket-drop: Dropping a fish into a bucket: a wet slap and a hollow metal bonk, under half a second. - lake-bed: A quiet lake shore as a seamless loop: soft gentle water lapping and a light breeze, six seconds. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I made all 12 sounds. They're in sounds/ as 16-bit, 44.1 kHz mono WAV files. I checked them with numbers only: lengths, peak levels, brightness and how the loop ends join up. I haven't listened to them, so please play them in context before you lock them in.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
