What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for any action game with melee combat: random body hit variations in light, medium and heavy weights. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - hit-light-1: Variation 1 of 4 light body hits: a quick soft slap-like thump, short and snappy, under a quarter second. - hit-light-2: Variation 2 of 4 light body hits: like variation 1 but slightly higher pitched and crisper. - hit-light-3: Variation 3 of 4 light body hits: like variation 1 but slightly duller with a softer attack. - hit-light-4: Variation 4 of 4 light body hits: like variation 1 but a touch longer with a little cloth swish. - hit-medium-1: Variation 1 of 4 medium body hits: a solid punchy thud with some low body, under a third of a second. - hit-medium-2: Variation 2 of 4 medium body hits: like variation 1 but slightly lower and rounder. - hit-medium-3: Variation 3 of 4 medium body hits: like variation 1 but with a sharper, snappier crack at the start. - hit-medium-4: Variation 4 of 4 medium body hits: like variation 1 but slightly longer with a muffled tail. - hit-heavy-1: Variation 1 of 4 heavy body hits: a deep, powerful thump with a strong low boom, about half a second. - hit-heavy-2: Variation 2 of 4 heavy body hits: like variation 1 but even lower with a longer rumbling decay. - hit-heavy-3: Variation 3 of 4 heavy body hits: like variation 1 but with a harder crunchy crack on the attack. - hit-heavy-4: Variation 4 of 4 heavy body hits: like variation 1 but slightly higher and tighter with a short whoosh before. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”
What happened
We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took under 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.
Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
