What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for any game's impacts and thuds: punches, drops and collisions across many weights and materials. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - thud-light: A soft light thud of a small object landing on the floor, under a quarter second. - thud-heavy: A deep heavy low thud of something big hitting the ground, about half a second. - punch: A punchy dull body hit with a quick snap, short and solid, under a quarter second. - wood-knock: A hollow wooden knock of a crate being hit, short and dry, under a quarter second. - metal-clang: A bright ringing metal clang with a short decaying ring, about half a second. - stone-crack: A hard sharp crack of stone hitting stone with gritty debris, under half a second. - glass-break: A crisp shattering burst of glass with tinkling bright fragments, about one second. - soft-squish: A wet soft squishy impact like hitting slime, under half a second. - body-fall: A dull heavy fall of a body or sack hitting the ground with a short rustle, about half a second. - ground-slam: A massive ground slam with a low boom and rumbling shake, about one and a half seconds. - dirt-impact: A muffled soft impact into dirt with a light crumbly scatter, under half a second. - shield-block: A sturdy blocking clunk of a hit against a wooden shield with a metal rim ring, under half a second. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I made all 12 sounds and saved them as WAV files in sounds/. I checked them by length, by level and by looking at a spectrogram (a picture of each sound's frequencies over time). I haven't listened to them, so they still need a listen in your game.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took under 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
