Mining & Crafting sound effects: 12 free sounds from one prompt
Play 12 mining & crafting sound effects that Claude Code made from one prompt. Copy any sound's prompt, or download the pack as WAV files.

What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a blocky sandbox mining game: chunky, crunchy, satisfying digging, placing and crafting sounds. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - pickaxe-stone: A pickaxe striking stone: a short gritty click with a dry crunchy tail, under a quarter second. - pickaxe-ore: A pickaxe chipping metal ore: a hard stony tick with a faint bright metallic ring on top. - block-crack: A block slowly cracking while being mined: three quick dry crunches, each slightly louder, about one second. - block-break: A stone block breaking apart: a crunchy noise burst with small tumbling rubble ticks after, about half a second. - block-place: Placing a block in the world: a soft solid low thump with a short dusty tap, very short. - dirt-dig: Digging a dirt block with a shovel: a soft muffled scrape and crumble, under half a second. - item-pop: A mined block dropping as a small item and popping into the inventory: a tiny bright plop. - craft-item: Crafting an item at a workbench: two quick wooden knocks followed by a short bright sparkle, about half a second. - furnace-smelt: A furnace smelting ore as a seamless loop: low steady fire roar with gentle crackles, about five seconds. - torch-place: Placing a wall torch: a small whoosh of flame catching, then a faint soft flicker, under one second. - cave-bed: A deep underground cave as a seamless loop: low airy drone, distant soft rumble and rare far water drips, six seconds. - rare-find: Uncovering a rare gem in the rock: a short rising three-note chime with a soft shimmer, about one second. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”
What happened
We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.
Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
