What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a fast ninja martial arts action game: swift blades, quick strikes and smoke. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - sword-draw: A katana sliding out of its sheath, a quick bright metallic ring rising in pitch, about half a second. - sword-slash: A fast sword slash, a sharp thin whoosh of air under a third of a second. - shuriken-throw: A throwing star spinning through the air, a quick whirring whistle that passes by, about half a second. - shuriken-hit: A throwing star sticking into wood, a short sharp thunk with a tiny metal ring. - punch: A quick martial arts punch landing, a snappy low thump with a short slap. - kick-whoosh: A fast spinning kick, a heavy swooping whoosh of air about half a second. - blade-clash: Two swords clashing, a bright ringing metal clang that rings out for about one second. - smoke-bomb: A ninja smoke bomb, a soft pop followed by a hissing puff of smoke, about one second. - dash: A super fast ninja dash, a short sharp rising whoosh under a third of a second. - wall-jump: A ninja kicking off a wall, a light tap followed by a short upward swish. - gong: A deep bronze gong struck once and slowly shimmering away, for a round start, about four seconds. - dojo-ambience: A quiet dojo at night with a soft breeze and a faint wooden wind chime clack as a seamless loop, about eight seconds. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I've made all 12 sounds as WAV files in sounds/. They're generated by code, so I can only check them with measurements; I can't listen to them. Please play them yourself before using them in the game.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
