What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a modern, smooth action platformer: soft, tactile, airy movement sounds, not retro beeps. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - wall-jump: A quick wall jump: a soft scuffing kick off a wall into a short airy whoosh, under half a second. - wall-slide: Sliding down a wall: a soft steady gritty friction noise, seamless loop of about two seconds. - dash: A fast mid-air dash: a sharp punchy whoosh with a quick bright snap at the start, under half a second. - ground-pound: A ground pound: a short rising whistle as the character drops, then a deep heavy thump, about one second. - ledge-grab: Grabbing a ledge: a soft grunt-free cloth rustle and a light hand-on-stone tap, under a quarter second. - ledge-climb: Pulling up over a ledge: a quick cloth rustle and a soft scrape ending in a light step, about half a second. - glide: Gliding through the air with a cape: a gentle soft wind flutter, seamless loop of about three seconds. - slide: A floor slide: a short smooth swishing scrape on a hard floor, fading out, under one second. - crouch: Crouching down: a very soft short cloth rustle with a tiny low thud, under a quarter second. - rope-swing: Swinging on a rope: a rope creak followed by a smooth rising then falling whoosh, about one second. - grapple-shoot: Firing a grappling hook: a quick mechanical click, a zipping cable whir and a metallic catch, under one second. - roll-land: Landing from a high fall into a roll: a soft thump followed by a quick tumbling rustle, under one second. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I've made all 12 sounds and saved them in sounds/. I couldn't listen to them myself, so please play them before using them. What I did check: each file has the right length, the levels are balanced, the loops loop cleanly, and the parts of each sound (scuff, whoosh, thump, and so on) happen in the right order.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 3 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
