Puzzle and match-3 sound effects: 10 free sounds from one prompt
Play 10 puzzle and match-3 sound effects that Claude Code made from one prompt. Copy any sound's prompt, or download the pack as WAV files.

What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a colourful match-3 puzzle game: bubbly, bright and rewarding. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - swap: A quick soft swish of two tiles swapping places. - invalid-swap: A dull, rubbery bounce-back when a swap isn't allowed. - match-3: A bright pop for clearing three tiles. - combo-2: A higher, sparklier pop for a second combo in a row. - combo-3: An even higher and fuller pop with a shimmer for a third combo. - special-tile: A magical whoosh and chime when a special bomb tile is created. - bomb-clear: A soft, satisfying burst clearing a whole row. - star-earned: A bright twinkle for earning a star at the end of a level. - level-complete: A happy, bouncy jingle for finishing a puzzle, about two seconds. - out-of-moves: A gentle descending 'aww' tone when you run out of moves. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”
What happened
- Wrote one Python script that makes every pop, chime and burst from the same tones
- Checked every file for clicks at the start and end, peaks and length
- Turned down the out-of-moves sound so losing feels gentle
The combo pops are the point of this pack. Play match, combo 2 and combo 3 in a row: each one is higher and fuller than the last, which is what makes a chain feel rewarding.
The out-of-moves sound is deliberately soft. Losing a puzzle should not feel like a punishment.
We gave the prompt to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It took under 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.
Every sound is also in the sound effects library, next to the sounds from the other packs. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
