What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a wilderness survival crafting game: woody, rough, hand-made tool and camp sounds. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - axe-chop: An axe biting into a tree trunk: a sharp hollow wooden thunk with a short woody crack, under half a second. - tree-fall: A tree falling over: slow creaking wood that builds, then a heavy low crash with leafy rustle, about three seconds. - saw-stroke: A hand saw cutting wood: one rasping back-and-forth stroke of gritty filtered noise, about one second. - hammer-nail: A hammer driving a nail into a plank: three quick bright taps, the last one duller and lower. - plank-place: Laying a wooden plank on a build: a solid hollow wooden clack with a short rattle, very short. - build-done: Finishing a hand-built shelter: a soft wooden knock and a warm two-note rising chime, about one second. - stone-knap: Chipping a flint stone into a tool: two short dry clicking stone taps, sharp and gritty. - fire-strike: Striking flint to light a fire: a quick scratchy spark click followed by a tiny whoosh of catching flame. - campfire-loop: A small campfire as a seamless loop: soft warm crackles and pops over a low gentle flame hiss, five seconds. - rope-tie: Tying a rope knot: a quick soft creaky stretch and a tight snap, under half a second. - gather-wood: Picking up a bundle of sticks: a few quick light wooden clatters, under half a second. - tool-break: A worn-out tool breaking: a dull wooden snap with a short metallic clink as the head falls off. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”
What happened
We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 4 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.
Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
