What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a tower defense strategy game: building towers, firing at waves of enemies, clear readable feedback. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - tower-build: Placing and building a new tower: a short mechanical clunk followed by a rising click, about one second. - tower-upgrade: Upgrading a tower: a bright ascending shimmer with a solid thunk at the end, about one second. - tower-sell: Selling a tower back for coins: a quick falling tone with a soft coin clink, under half a second. - arrow-shot: A light arrow tower firing: a short airy twang and swish, under a quarter second. - cannon-shot: A cannon tower firing a heavy shell: a deep boom with a short puff, about half a second. - laser-zap: A laser tower firing: a thin buzzing electric zap beam, about half a second. - frost-shot: A frost tower slowing enemies: a crisp icy crackle with a cold shimmer, about half a second. - enemy-hit: A small enemy taking damage: a short dull thud with a tiny click, under a quarter second. - enemy-die: A small enemy popping and vanishing: a quick falling squelch blip, under half a second. - wave-start: A low warning horn followed by a drum hit announcing the next enemy wave, about two seconds. - base-damaged: An urgent alarm buzz when an enemy reaches the base and lives are lost, about one second. - coin-earn: A soft bright coin clink when gold is earned from a defeated enemy, under a quarter second. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I made all 12 sounds and saved them in sounds/. They're synthesized from scratch by make_sounds.py (plain Python, no other libraries needed), so you can tweak them and regenerate. **I can't listen to audio, so I haven't heard any of these.** I only checked them by measuring length, volume levels, and that the start and end of each file are silent (no clicks). Please give them a listen. If something sounds off, tell me which file and how, and I'll adjust it.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 2 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
