What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a game with everyday vehicles on roads, water and air: recognizable engines and passing sounds. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - car-idle: A car engine idling: a steady low rumbling purr with a slight pulse, seamless loop, about four seconds. - car-pass: A car driving past from left to right: an engine hum rising and falling in pitch as it passes, about three seconds. - motorbike-rev: A motorbike revving twice: a buzzy sharp engine whine climbing and dropping, about two seconds. - truck-reverse: A truck reversing warning: steady repeating high beeps, seamless loop of about three seconds. - car-horn: A plain two-tone car horn honk, short and slightly nasal, under half a second. - car-door: A car door closing: a solid muffled thunk with a small latch click, under half a second. - boat-motor: A small boat outboard motor: a buzzy chugging engine with light water slap, seamless loop, about four seconds. - plane-flyby: A propeller plane flying overhead: a droning buzz growing louder then fading away with pitch drop, about four seconds. - helicopter: A helicopter hovering: fast rhythmic rotor thumps over a turbine whine, seamless loop, about four seconds. - train-pass: A train passing by: rhythmic wheel clacks over a heavy rumble, rising and fading, about five seconds. - bicycle-bell: A small bicycle bell ringing twice: a bright metallic ring-ring, about one second. - tire-skid-gravel: A car braking on gravel: a crunchy rough noise skid that slows to a stop, about one second. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I made all 12 sounds and saved them in sounds/. They're stereo WAV files at 44.1 kHz, 16-bit. I can't listen to audio, so I checked them by looking at spectrograms and measuring them, not by ear. Give them a listen before you use them in the game.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 7 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
