What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a gritty post-apocalyptic game with scrap-built weapons: rusty, crunchy, rattling and loud. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - pipe-pistol: A dry punchy gunshot from a crude scrap pistol with a rattly metallic tail, under half a second. - scrap-shotgun: A heavy booming shotgun blast with loose clanking metal after it, about one second. - nail-gun: A fast pneumatic hiss and sharp thunk for a nail gun firing, under a quarter second. - junk-reload: A reload made of clunky rattling metal clicks and a sliding scrape, about one second. - weapon-jam: A dull dry click followed by a rattly scrape for a jammed scrap weapon, under half a second. - pipe-swing: A heavy low whoosh of a metal pipe swinging through the air, under half a second. - pipe-hit: A hard dull metallic clang of a pipe hitting armor with a short ring, under half a second. - flamethrower: A roaring burst of rough crackling flame noise from a makeshift flamethrower, about two seconds. - molotov: A glass bottle shatter followed by a whooshing burst of fire, about one second. - rusty-explosion: A big crunchy explosion with a low boom and falling scrap metal debris, about two seconds. - pickup-scrap: A quick jangle of small scrap metal pieces for picking up scrap, under half a second. - wasteland-wind: A dry desolate wind over an empty wasteland with faint metal creaks, seamless loop of six seconds. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

Claude
I made all 12 sounds and saved them as WAV files in sounds/. I can't listen to audio, so I checked them by measurement instead: length, volume over time, and how bright each one is. They're worth a listen before you use them, but none of the measurements flagged a problem.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 3 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
