What we asked“Make a sound effect pack for a tense zombie survival game: gritty, scary and desperate. Save each sound as a WAV file in a sounds folder, named like this: - zombie-groan: A synthesized zombie groan, a low wobbling growl of distorted noise rising and falling, about one and a half seconds. - zombie-hit: Hitting a zombie with a blunt weapon, a wet heavy thud with a low squelch, under half a second. - shotgun-blast: A shotgun blast, a deep loud boom with a crackly noise burst and short echo, under one second. - shotgun-pump: Pumping a shotgun, two quick heavy mechanical clacks, under half a second. - empty-click: Pulling the trigger on an empty gun, a single dry hollow click, very short. - barricade-board: Nailing a board over a window, a woody thunk followed by three quick hammer taps, about one second. - pickup-ammo: Picking up an ammo box, a short rattle of small metal bits with a cardboard thump. - pickup-medkit: Picking up a medkit, a soft zipper rasp followed by a gentle rising tone, under one second. - heartbeat: A tense low heartbeat for low health, two soft deep thumps repeating, seamless loop of about two seconds. - horde-ambience: A distant horde of zombies, a low murmuring rumble of many groans and wind, seamless loop of about eight seconds. - fence-rattle: A chain-link fence rattling as something hits it, a shaky metallic jangle, about one second. - night-falls: A warning that night is falling, a slow low swell with a dark dissonant tone, about three seconds. Make them sound like they belong to the same game.”

What happened

Claude
I've made all 12 sounds and saved them in sounds/ as mono 16-bit WAV files at 44.1 kHz. I haven't listened to any of them, so please audition the pack before you use it. What I did check: every file renders, the lengths match your brief, the loops join without a jump at the seam, and there are no clicks at the start or end of the one-shots.

We gave the prompt above to a fresh Claude Code session in an empty folder, with no skills and no extra tools. It wrote a small program that makes every sound from scratch, and it took about 4 minutes. Claude can’t hear, so it checked the sounds by measuring them. Press play and judge them yourself.

Every sound is also in the sound effects library, where you can search all packs at once. They are free to use in your games, commercial or not.
